Jake Watson
MSOPD is pleased to welcome Jake Watson back after a lengthy absence.  Jake has a long and colorful piping history that includes tenure with some of the world's top Grade 1 pipe bands.

At age 19 he left the City of Toronto Pipe Band to become Pipe Major of the Waterloo Regional Police Pipe Band.  Over the next 30 years Jake played in several notable bands including both Clan MacFarlane and the 78th Frasers.  He was also Pipe Major of two Grade 1 pipe bands; Niagara & District Pipe Band and the Metro Toronto Police Pipe Band.  He led Metro Toronto Police to Grade 1 Champion Supreme in the PPBSO.  This band is heralded by many as the best band Canada ever produced.  Jake was a member of the 78th Frasers' 1987 World Championship band.

He is currently Pipe Sergeant with Peel Regional Police Pipe Band and musical director of the Penetangore group, fielding both Grade 4 and Grade 2 competition bands.

And on a personal level, this note:
Jake's personality is only marginally exceeded by his awesome talent.  He is known as a ferocious competitor, a caring but demanding teacher, and to me, a lifelong friend.  Ringo
